The Muriel Thelma Lewis Foundation held a donation drive Labor Day Weekend, just in time for Back to School. People donated backpacks, notebooks, and other supplies that will be shipped to Guyana in support of the foundation’s mission. In addition, volunteers also helped raise hundreds of dollars during the event.

Family Packing Party for Donations

Foundation Donates Backpacks to Students

The Muriel Thelma Lewis Foundation helped ensure 40 students at St. Pius Primary School had a solid start to the upcoming school year. On April 26th, the organization donated backpacks filled with supplies and a small amount of groceries to children with the most need. The nonprofit worked with the school principal to select the group. St. Pius Primary School is located in Georgetown, Guyana – a community Muriel Lewis lived and raised her 9 children. Two of Lewis children went to St. Pius as children, making this donation extra special for the family.


Homeless Shelter
In memory of the first anniversary of Muriel Lewis’ death, her family spent time taking care of the less fortunate – Something Muriel always did during her lifetime. The family spent time at Skyway Men’s shelter in Queens, NY, giving out lunches and care packages with toiletries.
Fruits of Calvary Donates Food Hampers to Community Members
The Muriel Lewis Foundation provided 55 food hampers to the community of Wismar in Guyana on April 2nd, 2021. The Fruits of Calvary Church organized the event.
